About

Amy Hannah is a 22 year old photographer, hailing from Northern Ireland. Her roots began in Moving Image Arts- branching from this, she began to study her camera as a photographer rather than as a filmmaker.

She graduated in 2022 from Belfast School of Art after completing a BA Hons Degree in Photography With Video- Her newest project, ‘Epitaph’, is her first solo exhibition post-graduation as a result of being awarded the 2022 Graduate Award by University of Atypical. This exhibition was a part of Belfast Photo Festival's 2023 program, under the theme of 'Journeys'.

Her influences come in many forms- from cinema to music, literature to classical fine art, she draws ideas and inspiration from the things she enjoys most and puts their themes, framing, tropes and staging to use within her own artistic practice.

Hannah’s works usually feature self portrait photography- due to the autobiographical nature of ‘Epitaph’ as well as her previous works, inserting herself into the images is the easiest way for her to communicate the story behind the stills.
